The Production Department handles orders in a comprehensive manner, from participation in the planning and editing stages to design and DTP production, data production and processing in various formats, output, printing and binding. The Department conducts a wide range of services including, in particular, editorial design and DTP production of various types of published matter focusing on magazines and other printed material consisting of pages, in addition to graphic design and DTP production of commercial printing items such as posters, leaflets and pamphlets. The beautiful typography and precise typesetting technology used in these services continue a Vanfu tradition that began from typesetting and art work, and these techniques have drawn attention from a variety of industries. The know-how developed since the initiation of these services functions as the source for our production operators' skills, allowing Vanfu to maintain the high quality of the Production Department's production capabilities. In addition, within our DTP production service, Vanfu's unique, database-utilizing automatic composition system demonstrates the company?fs preeminent expertise in this field. The company has a distinguished record of achievement using this system in the production of materials such as study materials that require processing of large numbers of pages. By skillfully combining the abilities of this automatic typesetting system with the technical expertise of our operators, it has been possible to realize a production speed considered as top class within the industry. We are also continuing to develop our business, using know-how developed over many years in the industry to realize goals of improved quality and shorter delivery times through means including DTP outsourcing to customers' offices.

The Production Department, as the face of Vanfu's combined production strength, consists of three main pillars: the Takebashi Production Department, Tokyo Production Department and the Hachinohe Center. With the largest number of production staff within Vanfu, the Production Department uses a 24-hour-a-day system to provide solid support to our customers. Additionally, team configurations designed to raise quality and speed including the SE Team, Production Team, Administration Team and Catalog Production Team mean that we are able to respond quickly to customer needs no matter what the request. In order to take advantage of the varied expertise of each department, work is divided between the Production Department and the Hachinohe Center, and so for day-to-day production, communication becomes vital, and can have a major impact on production quality. The difficulties distance can cause, however, are not a factor at the Production Department, due to the use of TV phones, color faxes, broadband networks and other cutting-edge tools to make reliable and finely crafted production a reality. The outstanding teamwork of all the staff also contributes to the superior quality of the finished product. To progress together with our customers, advancing at the same pace, requires that we develop our business together with our customers, and grow together with them.
